Teddy Bear Muhammad not allowed to join the Bear Force

In Sudan a British teacher has been arrested for naming a teddy bear “Muhammad”. Or as a matter of fact: let the children name it Muhammad.
The idea was to let the kids all have the bear for a day, with a book where the kids would write down what the bear had seen and done that day. What a wonderful idea! However, there was a vote on the bears name. The kids (all aged around 7) had a hard time choosing between Abdullah, Hassan or Muhammad, since most of the boys in the class were also carrying that name. Democracy among the 7 year-olds functioned better than that in most eastern European countries, and a staggering 20 out of 23 kids choose Muhammad as the name for their new furry little friend.
And that lead to the arrest of the 54 year old teacher for “blasphemy” because some of the kids parents had complaint at the Sudan ministry of education.
One more reason not to travel to Sudan!
